On Friday, June 6, 2025, at 1:30 PM, Lt. Apichet Boonpuan (RTN), Assistant to Managing Director of Unithai Shipyard & Engineering Ltd., along with the Executive team of Unithai Shipyard & Engineering Ltd., donated surplus anti-fouling paint from the company’s ship repair operations to nearby local fishery group in communities.
This time, the donation was made to the fishery group in Baan Ao Udom community, which consists of over 40 fishing boats in the area. The handover was represented by Mr. Chalong Thongboonsong, Vice Chairman of the Baan Ao Udom community, and Mr. Prem Suesat, President of the Baan Ao Udom Fishery Group, along with other community committee members. The paint will be distributed to fishermen in the area for further use.
The purpose of donating surplus anti-fouling paint is to support local fishery groups in communities in maintaining and repainting their fishing boats. The initiative benefits the Baan Laem Chabang, Baan Bang Lamung, and Baan Ao Udom fishery groups in communities by reducing costs associated with boat maintenance. Additionally, repurposing the excess paint helps lower greenhouse gas emissions related to disposal processes and eliminates external disposal costs for the company. A well-thought-out initiative that supports both the community and environmental sustainability!
